The fracture site was X-rayed. A figure 8 loop wire was placed around the mandibular canine teeth. The wire and both canines and premolars were covered with an acrylic splint and sanded until smooth. Six weeks later the splint was easily removed and the fracture had healed well. The site will need to be monitored especially the lower left canine tooth which may need a root canal at a future date.
